RESEARCH AWARD

GENERAL INFORMATION

1. Pediatric specialists from Education Institution and Non-Education institutions, under the age of 40 at the time of the presentation (29 September 2024), are eligible to participate. Participants must submit proof of identity.
2. The presenter must be a registrant at KONIKA XIX 2024.
3. The manuscript (full text) must be an original work.
4. The paper must not have been published prior to KONIKA XIX 2024.
5. No manuscripts will be considered after the closing deadline.
6. The presenting author must be registered for the KONIKA XIX symposium.
7. Manuscript submissions are limited to two manuscripts per primary author.
8. The Scientific Committee will determine whether the manuscript will be accepted for Oral Presentation at the Young Pediatrician Research Award.
9. Only six manuscripts will be selected for the presentation. Manuscripts not selected will be considered for Oral or Poster presentation as decided by the Scientific Committee.
10. Three winners will be chosen and awarded prizes by the committee.
11. To facilitate the author to publish the manuscript in peer-review journals, only abstracts will be published in the KONIKA XIX Proceedings.

MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION GUIDELINES

All manuscripts must be submitted online as a Microsoft Word file attachment, prepared as follows:

• Title page
• Author and affiliation
• Abstract
• Keywords
• Introduction
• Methods
• Results, including tables/figures
• Discussion
• Conflict of Interest
• Acknowledgements (if necessary)
• References

Additional information:

1. Manuscripts must be typed in English using Arial font, size 11 pt, and single spacing.
2. The title should be written in UPPER CASE (capital letters).
3. Authors’ full names should be written with the first name followed by the family name in upper and lower case. The primary author(s) should be listed first, and the presenter’s name should be underlined. Affiliation details should include the department, institution/hospital, city/state, and country in sequence.
4. The abstract must not exceed 300 words, excluding the title and authors.
5. Avoid using non-standard abbreviations, unfamiliar terms, symbols, or acronyms that are not easily understood by general readers. Non-standard abbreviations must be defined in full at their first appearance. Use the generic names of drugs. Express numbers as numerals.
6. Tables/graphs/diagrams should be included in the Results section.
7. References should follow the “Uniform requirements for manuscripts submitted to biomedical journals.” (updated February 2006) published by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors, with some modifications.

HOW TO SUBMIT MANUSCRIPT ON-LINE

1. The participant is advised to complete the registration formalities before proceeding with the submission of Manuscript.
2. Visit Manuscript submission page https://www.konika19.com/research-award/ and fill in all the required fields.
3. Click upload button and choose the Manuscript’s file from your local computer – we strongly recommend for word-processor software – then click “Submit” to complete the submission process
4. Acceptable file formats are in .doc/docx or zip file, the maximum file size is 3 MB. Please note that uploading file may take a while depending on traffic and your internet connection.

MANUSCRIPT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

• Acceptance of Manuscript will be notified with email notification to the nominated email address.
• The confirmation of Manuscript will be acknowledged by official email to nominated email address at the latest 20 August 2024 after reviewed by the Scientific Coordinator to be allocated in Young Pediatrician Research Award presentation on Sunday, 29 September 2024 14.30 – 15.45.

WITHDRAWAL / CHANGES

• Manuscript is allowed to be edited for one time only. The edited Manuscript should be emailed to secretariat@geoconvex.com with the subject: [KONIKA XIX] Revised Manuscript (Author Name) at the latest 7 August 2024.
• Should you wish to withdraw your Manuscript, please email to secretariat@geoconvex.com
• Withdrawal/changes will not be possible after the above mentioned date.
